Now, let’s dive into February’s service release.

Intune Service Release (2502) Overview

Advanced Device Configuration (Windows)

  • Windows AI Settings: New settings have been added to the Windows settings catalog, allowing administrators to manage AI data analysis and configure parameters for Recall snapshots.

  • QR Code Authentication: Now in public preview, this feature supports QR code and PIN authentication for Android devices, streamlining user sign-in processes.

  • Additional Device Details: Administrators can now access information such as Android OS version, security patch level, and last device reboot time from the Managed Home Screen app’s Device Information page.

  • Ringtone Selector: A new setting allows users to select a ringtone within the Managed Home Screen app, enhancing customization options.

What This Means for MSPs and Enterprise IT

These updates come with tangible benefits for IT teams:

Advanced Device Configuration (Windows)

  • The introduction of new AI settings in the Windows settings catalog provides administrators with greater control over AI data processes, aligning device configurations with organizational policies and compliance requirements. Additionally, the shift to a low privileged account for the Intune Connector enhances security by adhering to the principle of least privilege, reducing the risk of unauthorized access. This is useful for administrators wanting to get ahead of the release of Recall, prior to doing their own internal testing.

  • The ability to manage Microsoft Defender Device Control configurations further strengthens an organization’s security posture by allowing precise control over device security settings.

✅Enhanced User Experience and Security (iOS & Android)

  • The Managed Home Screen updates, offer a more seamless and secure user sign-in experience. These features facilitate quicker device access and provide administrators with critical information for effective device management.

  • The additional controls and functionality available allows for deeper and more granular mobile device management capabilities
